Introduction: "Salvinorin A" the active component
of S. Divinorum, is most effective when vaporized and inhaled.
Chemically, Salvinorin A is a neoclerodane diterpene, a psychotropic
terpenoid. The grouping of psychoactive plants containing terpenoid
essential oils includes Salvia Divinorum, Wormwood (Absinth),
and Cannabis Sativa (tetrahydrocannabinols, THC). Divinorin A
was chemically characterized by Valdes et al., in 1984, however
Ortega et al., (1982) had previously characterized the same substance
and called it Salvinorin A and thus, out of convention, the psychoactive
substance should be called Salvinorin-A. A dose of 200 to 500
micrograms produces profound hallucinations when smoked. Its
effects in the open field test in mice and locomotor activity
tests in rats are similar to mescaline. Salvinorin As action
in the brain are not well elucidated. However, recent tissue testing
(in vitro assays) have suggested that Salvinorin A may act at
the kappa opiate receptor site, but functional assays are lacking
to determine the exact mechanism of action of this drug substance."
Uses: "Salvia is being smoked to induce hallucinations,
the diversity of which are described by its users to be similar
to those induced by ketamine, mescaline, or psilocybin. It is
being widely touted on Internet sites aimed at young adults and
adolescents eager to experiment with these types of substances."

This is not a marijuana alternative. This is a extraordinary
psychedelic herb used in shamanism, divination, healing, meditation,
and the exploration of consciousness. It should always be used
in a thoughtful, intelligent manner, and only by responsible adults
that are of sound mind and clear intent. Salvia contains a substance
called salvinorin A. Salvinorin A is the most potent naturally
occurring vision inducer. Salvinorin A is not an alkaloid
- its molecule contains only carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms.
Technically it is a neoclerodane diterpenoid. Salvinorin A is
a unique vision inducing substance, of great power. If
we cam make a bridge between the state induced by Hawaiian Herbal
Hydro Buds and Cannabis, Salvia is unique and it is best understood
on its own terms, it is not an analog of any other drug.
Legal status: Salvia Divinorum, Salvinorin A, and Divinorin
A are not listed in the Controlled Substances Act. Salvia Divinorum
became illegal in Australia and Finland in 2002, Salvia Divinorum
is legal throughout the United States. However, on January 23,
2003 the city of St. Peter's, Missouri passed an ordinance that
prohibits the sale of Salvia Divinorum to anyone under the age
of 18. The restriction is modeled after the state's tobacco law.
St. Peter's is the first, and so far only, city in the nation
to restrict the sale of Salvia Divinorum. Time is running out.
Methods of use: Dried salvia leaf is readily available
from commercial sources and can be smoked without further preparation
in joints, tobacco pipes, or water-pipes or bongs. It is best
to smoke the leaf material in a pipe not a cigarette. The effects
are noticed within 1 minute, rapidly developing to a peak which
lasts 5 to 10 minutes, gradually diminishing over the next 20
- 30 minutes. The entire experience lasts 30 minutes to one hour.
Also there is a Salvia 5X, 7X, 10X, 20X Extract, A very
interesting smoke, which is significantly more potent than plain
salvia leaves
Purchasing Saliva: There are some commercial sources of
Salvia leafs and extracts. If you decide purchasing while is still
legal we recommend Herbal
